Security Standards

At Elan, we understand that security is very important to our clients. Although we cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality of data transmitted over the public Internet, we encrypt all data transmissions between your computer and our data center using the strongest-available, industry-standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocols. Your messages to us are not decrypted until they are inside our firewall. There, they are subject to additional security procedures common to our standard practices.

Encryption

The encryption process - which scrambles your data into a form that only your browser and Elan's Web server can understand - is an effective way to achieve data security. Encryption significantly reduces the possibility of unauthorized users intercepting and reading your account or transaction information. To access the Client Resource Center, you should use a browser that supports 128-bit security.

Usernames and Passwords

Usernames are used by Elan employees as a means of identifying customers and are not encrypted information. On the other hand, for security reasons, Passwords are encrypted and are known only to the user. No one at Elan will ever need to know your Password, and you should never furnish it to anyone who claims to represent Elan. Together, your Username and Password add to the security of the Client Resource Center.

Password Security

You are allowed 6 attempts to enter your Username and Password correctly on the login page. If you are unsuccessful, please contact us at 1-800-523-5354.

Log Out

When you have finished your session, be sure to log out by clicking the "Log Out" button.lt is also a good idea to close your browser after you log out and clear your browser history occasionally to ensure that your information is cleared from your browser's memory.

Browser Navigation

As an additional security measure, we prevent pages containing your private information from being saved on your computer's hard drive. You may receive error messages from your browser requiring you to click "reload" or "refresh" to go back or forward in your Client Resource Center sessions when you use your browser's back or forward buttons. Simply follow the instructions to access the last page you visited.

Security Involves You

You play an important role in protecting your security. Above all, maintain the secrecy of your Internet Password. Never tell anyone your Password or write it down in a place where it could be associated with your Username. If you think that someone else may have access to your Password, please contact us at 1-800-523-5354. You can change your password at anytime by going to ''Change Password". The system will also prompt you to change your password every 90 days.
